A circa 1889 to early 1890's cabinet card photo of a musician with a slide trombone. He was a member of the Pioneer Band of Allentown, PA and wears a uniform that is identical to the uniforms worn by other Pioneer Band members in other cabinet card photos that we have listed on ebay. This image does not show the name Pioneer in the image but on the front of his cap is printed "Allentown Band." This is hard to read but it is more clear on the cap of another Pioneer band member that we have listed.

The Pioneer Band was founded in Allentown, Pa in 1889 and is now in its 124th year of providing music in Pennsylvania. The band has a website which can be found by a search on their name. The cabinet card measures 4 1/4 inches by 6 1/2 inches.

The image itself is in fine condition with rich tones particularly in the area of the jacket. The contrast is a little soft in the area of his head and cap and his lower legs although this is apparently due to slight vignetting of the image by the photographer. The condition of the cabinet can be seen in the accompanying picture. Printed below the image is the photographer's marking: "Lindenmuth Studio, 24 North 6th St.,, Allentown, Pa." The photographer's name and address are also printed on the back of the card.
