Antique Original M1873 Springfield Trapdoor Rifle Bayonet with scabbard and Frog.  Both the Bayonet and Frog Rosette are Massachusetts Marked.  Bayonet measures 21" overall with a blade length of 18".  Ricasso stamped, "MASS/U.S.".  Socket shows original finish mixed with some scattered pitting areas, spots around the neck and ricasso. The blade overall shows mostly original blued finish with sprinkles of age patina.  The neck area of the leather frog opposite side of the rosette stamp "MASS" has a stamping of "42".
