If your car will not idle this is possibly the bad part. It should click when you turn the car's ignition on. A lot of times you will find the end cut off these and the carb adjusted incorrectly as a result. This kills your gas mileage. Sometimes you have to adjust the depth this sits at on your carburetor, you do this with shims or gaskets. 1 metal gasket is included with this, so far I have only had to remove the gasket 5% or so of the time I used one to make them function. This is because of wear on the carb body so it changes the depth the plunger on the solenoid to adjust for the wear.
This fits all air cooled VW's with a dual port motor and the stock type 34 Pict 3 carburetor.
