Antique Dated 1904 Pottery Ceramic Jar and Cover Tree

On offer here is a really interesting ceramic red clay pottery jar or pot and cover, is it a tea caddy, a tobacco jar, or a sweet pot?  This looks handmade, maybe a studio pottery piece, it has a chocolate brown glaze finish, and the whole thing is simulating a tree. to the front is an inscription that reads ( With P. L . Noel’s Compliments 1904 ) The only P Noel I can find from this era was a manufacture of sweets. I am thinking this was made for someone who may have worked there or been a big part of the company this is assuming that it is related to the same P Noel I found. Either way, this is a very interesting piece. the condition is, there is a hairline but it is only visible from the inside, and a rim chip, please see the photographs. I don’t offer many items with flaws however this is such a unique item I felt it deserved to be offered.
