This is an interesting 1888 presidential campaign advertising card which shows electoral votes by the states on the back. The card shows a portrait of Allen G. Thurman on the front who was running on the democratic ticket (for V.P.) with Grover Cleveland in 1888. The card was issued by the Marshall & Ball Clothiers Company which had locations in Newark, N. J., Jersey City, N. J., & Paterson, N. J.

The card measures 4 1/2 inches long by 3 inches wide. Card & text are complete with no scuffs or chips. Edges & corners show some wear. There are two light creases & there is some minor age soiling. Overall a decent example of this rare card. This is a recent find from an early New Jersey estate where it had resided carefully sequestered for 131 years since it's issue in 1888.
