A scarce, attractive, large & impressive brass die cut "Dick Tracy Inspector General Secret Service Patrol" badge. This badge is visually one of the most impressive premium badges ever issued. The badge was a premium item which was issued by Quaker Cereals in 1938. There were five lower ranks of Dick Tracy badge issued which were ranks under this badge & only one rank issued which was higher than this badge. The only higher rank issued was the "Patrol Leader" which is rare but was merely a very simple & insignificant looking stickpin.

So, the "Inspector General" badge we are offering holds the glorious distinction of being visually the most impressive badge issued, by far, in the Dick Tracy Quaker Cereals series. When originally issued this was put out with a seperate piece of paper that had the wording on it: "The Highest Honor I Can Bestow Upon Any Member Of The Dick Tracy Service Patrol. You Have Reached The top And I Am Proud Of You". The paper is not present in our offering.

The vast majority of the original high gloss surface sheen is still present & very attractive. Please note: the badge looks radically nicer in person condition-wise than the pictures show!!! For some reason the pics have emphasized the minor wear & do not show the wonderful bright sheen which is visible when the badge is viewed in person. All of the black details of the lettering are still present. The back retains the original pin. The badge shows only slight wear at the middle & very slightly on some of the high points. There are a few light surface scratches in the middle area. This die cut brass badge measures 2 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches & has a weight of 3/10 of an ounce.
