This exceptionally stylish American gesso on wood frame from the early to middle 1900's features boldly canted reverse profile with 3" wide x 3 3/4" deep molding displaying crisp gesso designs in the classical manner. Measuring 24 1/2" x 24 3/8" overall it holds a 19" square artwork or mirror glass. There is NO glass and it is sturdy and usable with very minor losses to the applied corner details. Its finish is antique gold with chalky white occasionally opaque glaze with just enough wear to lend a rich old European appeal.
