I made these cafe curtains that I used as a valance over blinds from fabric that I bought in Italy about 25 years ago.  I am not sure what they are made from but they feel like a linen rayon blend.  The fabric was over $40 a yard, but it was so lovely I had to have it.  There are 4 pieces, 2 are 23" x 59" and 2 are 23" x 38".  I have never washed them because I was unsure of the fabric content.  I did run them through the dryer to remove dust.  They hung in my bedroom until last year when I downsized and have no use for them in my new home.
