SIZING NOTE: As these are rigid stiff Hats, even if you have the correct size; They do not readily confirm to your head SHAPE (like a soft Panama Hat).

If you are buying online and not visiting to have our fitting service, often one may need ONE SIZE UP to fit the max "outer" periphery of your head shape, so it may fit "front to back" but then have slight gaps on the side. eg if measure 58cm, then a 59cm may feel better unless you are getting it fitted.

To measure your hat size using a tape measure, follow your head circumference above the ears, approximately 1 inch above your eyebrows and 1/2 inch to 1 inch above the ears depending on how you wish to wear the hat (the brim should not touch your ears!). Then compare it on the table below. There is not always an exact match between cm to inches so the nearest has been selected. If your head measures between two sizes, select the larger size (you can place a small strip of felt behind the hat's sweatband to make the fit more comfortably).

Top Hats for sale come in various types and colours, this Black Topper is made from a "Melusine" Fur Felt, that gives the appearance of a Vintage Silk Plush Top Hat. It is a Polished Top Hat, and can show a luxurious high sheen and lustre similar to an antique silk top hat (or a beaver top hat) effect due to long nap fibres of the "Melusine" fur felt, as opposed to a "Drab" fur felt. It comes with a standard premium leather sweatband and finished with a wool felt "Mourning" hatband.

The Topper, at about 5¼" crown height, provides a classic Victorian or Edwardian Period fashion wear style, a refined look perfect for The Social Season in the UK, including the Royal Enclosure Dress Code for Gentlemen at Ascot Racecourse, Weddings, Investitures, Coach / Carriage Driving and other Formal occasions.

We can also provide an additional optional fitting service, where we can measure your head shape, as well as your hat size, then remould the correct size Top Hat to your head shape to make it fit more comfortably.
