I have for sale a very rare and unusual Victorian/Edwardian micro parquetry and marquetry box. The sides are made up of micro mosaic parquetry which produce bands of different patterns and the top has a marquetry picture depicting a man leading his lady on a donkey. The box has another set of hinges in the front so possibly had a sort of flap or mirror as there are notches inside the base where the height of flap or mirror could be adjusted. Could now be used as a trinket or card box or just admired as it is.

The box is in very good pre-loved antique condition with no inlay missing, as mentioned above would have had some sort of internal fitting and one side when closed has a small gap. This is all commensurate of age and use due to wood shrinking and expanding due to different internal and external temperatures during its life. No key.
