Here is an old, black and white photo of a large group of people posing on the steps of the Palm Post Office and General Store in Palm, Pennsylvania.  There are advertisements in the windows for El Producto Cigars, Stauffer Bros. Eisenlorh's who I think make cigars in the area, and part of a sign for Hamburg Chilled Plows.  There is nothing written on the photo identifying the group of people, or a date, there is no photographer's name either.  At one time there was the Acorn Glove Co., close by the Palm store, maybe this is a photo of the employees, perhaps the steps made a nice place for them to pose for a photograph.  That is only a guess.  This building is still standing, not sure about the glove company.  In 1949, it was purchased by the Boss Manufacturing Co. of Illinois.  The Acorn Glove Co. was owned originally by the Stauffer family, the store was also owned by a Stauffer, who I think was related to the owners of the factory.  The photo is nice and clear, but the cardboard it is mounted on has some rough edges and corners.  One upper corner is missing and the others are weak, especially the one lower one.  Palm is in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, near the border with Berks County.  It is near the towns of East Greenville, Hereford, Clayton, Chapel and Bally.  Great old photo for the local historian.  Would make a nice research project.
