Here is a vintage German Weimar Republic, scarce overprint stamp in rare "mint" condition. This stamp is like the day it came off the printing press.

I found this stamp while rummaging through the countryside north of Frankfurt, Germany, around 1980. I bartered for it and traded some American vintage baseball cards and U.S. coins.

Germans keep everything, but they neatly box old things that they no longer want. They are eager to give old stuff away. Among these things are often old and new stamps and post cards
