Tarzan Adventures, originally titled Tarzan: The Grand Adventure Comic started in tabloid format but became comic format with volume 2, and was retitled from volume three, It was published by Westworld from 1951-1959, a total of 342 issues, initially published fortnightly but later (from volume three) weekly. It began as a British edition of a French magazine which reprinted American Tarzan newspaper strips, though later issues contained some new filler material, including some text pieces by Michael Moorcock (who also edited the magazine) from volume 7(?) on.
FROM ERBZINE:- The series consists of B?W reprints of American daily and Sunday Tarzan strips: Maxon, Foster, Hogarth, Cardy, Lubbers, Reinman, Barry, Rubimore, Celardo etc are reprinted
- Some of the early covers featured colour-touched-up photos of Lex Barker with painted in backgrounds.
- Each issue featured a secondary illustrated adventure story (usually westerns or SF) as well as 1-3 short text stories by authors such as Mike Moorcock, Eric Hawkesworth, etc.
