BAIRSTOW MANOR POTTERY CHARACTER JUG

Up for sale I have this wonderful large Vera Lynn character jug which was modelled by Ray Noble. As well as Vera Lynn, the Forces Sweetheart, the jug has bluebirds as the handle and the white cliffs of Dover towards the bottom. It is issued to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day. The jug is hand-made and hand-painted and will be issued in a limited edition of no more than 200 - this is an early issue - number 5.

The character jug is approx. 7.25 inches/18.5cm high and is brand new and obtained direct from Bairstow Manor Pottery. It is heavy - weighs a little under 1kg before packing. The jug is 1st quality and is fully stamped underneath.

As these jugs are all hand-made and hand-painted I always examine each one carefully for any minor marks or inconsistencies in the finish. This one is excellent - I have just added the extra photos to try and show some examples of tiny dimples and glaze bubbling in the finish and some sharp pimples underneath - nothing unusual.
