USS Snapper SS-185 offered is a United States Navy Submarine 

first day cover postmarked from Washington, DC on January 24, 1991. 

Blue photo of submarine on cachet #2678 by Alvin Eckert, USCS #9964.

Cover franked with a postcard Red Snapper stamp #5365 on a 29 cent Star stamped envelope (FDOI).

This 308 foot Salmon Class submarine was built at Portsmouth NSY  between

1936 and 1937 and commissioned 15 December 1937.
