Oberschutze Rank Star German Elite/Panzer

Description

WW2 German Repro German Elite/Army Panzer Oberschutze star on black cloth.

In December 1920, the Reichsheer brought in a new rank and insignia for Enlisted Men (EM) called the Oberschutze. The Allgemeine-Elite adopted this rank in 1938 with the German Elite also adopting it later in 1939.

Originally the patch was made on field grey wool followed by bottle green wool. In 1940 new orders dictated that the patch should match the colour of the tunic worn, in this instance, this particular patch would have been worn by the Allgemeine-Elite on their M32 tunics and by Panzer troops on the Panzer/ Stug wraps.

Reproduction Oberschutze rank star on black wool base with a machine embroidered rank star.
