• For sale is one Symbol Technologies, Inc. CRD8800-1000S single-slot charging/ communications cradle.
  • The CRD8800-1000S 1-slot serial cradle enables you to charge your PPT88XX terminal while performing serial communication with your PC.  It also has a separate slot to charge a spare battery. 
  • The power supply and cradle are like new, but do not include the original packaging.  The power supply accepts input of 110-250V, 50-60hz., so this cradle can also be used outside of North America with the proper line cord for the power supply.
  • Symbol made 2 different single-slot cradles for the PPT88XX series of mobile computers: the CRD8800-1000S, the CRD8800B-1000S.  Of the 2 different models, the CRD8800B-1000S is the only one that can also charge the 3400mAh extended capacity batteries and also charge the terminal with the trigger handle installed. Either of the cradles can charge the standard capacity batteries in the spare battery charging slot and can charge a battery installed in the terminal. But only the CRD8800B-1000S model can also charge an extended capacity(3400mAh)battery or charge the termianl with the trigger-handle installed. If your terminal uses the extended capacity battery, or if you need to charge and communicate with your PPT88XX terminal has the trigger-handle installed, please see my other auction listings for the  CRD8800B-1000S cradle.
  • If your PC is a notebook computer or a newer desktop which does not have a serial port, USB-to-serial adaptors are available and are a simple and inexpensive solution for using this cradle on a PC without a serial port.

This cradle works with both Windows Mobile 2003 models (Pocket PC models) as well as the Windows CE.Net models.  It will work with the following PPT88XX models:

PPT8860
PPT8866

The seller has verified that the cradle powers on, allows a terminal to charge and communicate through its bottom port, charges batteries in the spare battery slot, and communicates with a PC through the serial port.
