Four original circa 1920's or so antique iron toy tools. Included in the grouping are the following:

1. A cast iron nickel plated claw head hammer with a painted red wood handle. The handle is 6 1/16 inches long & the head is 1 11/16 inches long. Head in bright fresh condition & there is only very slight wear to wood handle. Red painted handle is excellent.

2. A cast iron nickel plated claw head hammer of a larger size than the previous one. This one also has a painted red wood handle. The handle is 6 3/8 inches long & the head is 2 inches long. The head has some toning intermingled with considerable bright nickel plating. Handle has lots of original red paint. There is some age toning to handle & a few nicks off of wood just under the front of the head.

3. A sledge hammer. Cast iron head is copper plated. Plating shows some wear. Wood handle is unpainted, as made, & has lightly toned from age. The handle is 4 5/8 inches long & the head is 1 1/4 inches long.

4. Chisel with wood handle & an aluminum blade. Handle & blade have a total measurement of 4 3/4 inches. Handle has developed a rich pleasing patina from play use. Blade has light age toning & a few tiny dark age spots.

We do not know the maker or makers of these four toy tools. There is some chance that the Arcade Toy Company of Freeport, Illinois made them. That is our first guess. However, there were several other toy companies working in the same period that are potentials for having made them. Also, there are clearly three different styles of toy tools in this listing. So, it is possible that there were three different toy makers that made the tools. There are no cracks, no chips, & no repairs to any of the four tools.

The total weight of the four toy tools is 4.1 ounces. We have had these in our antique toy parts box since the 1970's & finally figured it was time to sell them.
