With “Find Your Sun“ The D Project from Québec City (Canada) have released
their 5th album which received high
ratings in web reviews.
Besides the band leader Stéphane Desbiens (guitars, keyboards, vocals) the
line-up consists of his son Sohn Philippe on bass, Jean Gosselin on drums and
Isabelle Cormier (violin, backing vocals). Guest musicians among others are Peter
Falconer (Drifting Sun) on vocals, Fred
Schendel (Glass Hammer) and Romain
Thorel (Lazuli) on keyboards.
On their homepage the band writes: “D Project is a mix of Pink Floyd, Genesis
and King Crimson, but with a personal touch and characteristic sound. Pink
Floyd meets Classic rock.“
Besides excellent guitar work this album shines with some strong mellotron, keyboard,
violin passages and vocal arrangements. Especially to mention is also the
magnificent bass work of Philippe Desbiens. The music offers a refreshing
dynamic of softer, acoustic, symphonic, rocky, harder edged and bombastic parts.
The CD also convinces with its well-done production and sound quality, not at
least due to the mastering by Andy
Jackson who formerly worked as sound engineer for Pink Floyd.

Die Besetzung besteht neben Stéphane Desbiens (Gitarren, Keyboards, Gesang) aus
seinem Sohn Philippe am Bass, Jean Gosselin am Schlagzeug und Isabelle Cormier
(Violine, Backgroundgesang). Als Gastmusiker wirken u.a. Peter Falconer
(Drifting Sun) als Sänger, Fred Schendel
(Glass Hammer) und Romain Thorel (Lazuli) an den Keyboards mit.

Neben hervorragender Gitarrenarbeit werden einige starke Mellotron-, Keyboard-, Violinenpassagen und Gesangsteile
geboten. Hervorzuheben ist auch die exzellente Bassarbeit von Philippe
Desbiens. Die Musik bietet eine erfrischende Dynamik aus weicheren,
akustischen, symphonischen, rockigen, härteren und bombastischen Teilen. Die CD
überzeugt auch durch die gelungene Produktion und Soundqualität, nicht zuletzt durch das
Mastering von Andy Jackson, der früher als Soundingenieur für Pink Floyd tätig war.
