Here's an early multi color Prattware pot lid depicting the famous Italian hero Garibaldi, who visited England in 1864, so this lid was probably made in 1864 to honor his visit.....Garibaldi is standing beside the flag of Italy and pointing to St.Peters Basilica Dome in the background.....ceramic lid is 4"across x 3/4"deep...Excellent condition with only one small shallow chip on bottom edge; no other damage. A nice clean lid. Originally, it would have had a base and sold with potted meat or food product inside. This lid was produced by the F & R Pratt company..We just cant keep everything, so after 50 years of digging and collecting we have decided to part with many of our bottles (to make room for more..haha)...so keep watching our listings as many rare treasures are being found! ....
