SS Amy Lowell: this 441 foot cargo ship was built in Wilmington, CA in 1943. This proud vessel transported vital supplies to overseas US and Allied forces during WW II. Records show the ship survived the war, carried commercial cargo after 1947 under two different names, and was sold to be recycled into scrap metal in 1967.
