Marcus Weibel's painting does not rely on chance combinations of lines or spots, even if it plays on it. Its vocation would be rather to reveal to us a presence of objects "expressed" more than "figured" in a multifaceted vision. Their apprehension passes by the material, the color much more than by the connotation, more than by the description. They escape any codification and if it is possible to count them, any attempt at inventory leads on a false track.

Marcus Weibel, a graduate of the Ecole du Louvre, benefits from solid theoretical and technical training. Coming late to the practice of painting, he has the amazed gaze of one who goes from discovery to discovery and his enthusiasm, in his work, is terribly convincing.
