A exceptional pair of vintage Native American handmade sterling silver earrings by Hopi artist Leroy Honyaktewa. Using the overlay technique of cutting designs and off setting with tooled oxidization, this Hopi "feather" design in sterling silver depicts eagle feathers. These highly collectable earrings came from the estate collection of a long time Arizona resident and dates from the turn of the 21st Century. Honyaktewa has carried on the Hopi overlay technique pioneered by Paul Saufkie and Fred Kabotie. Hallmarked with Leroy Honyaktewa's figural “eagle'' artist stamp.
