Stone: Aventurine

Aventurine is a semi-transparent, hard stone with a shimmering iridescence and a semi-translucent appearance.  A metamorphic rock, meaning it is made up of more than one mineral, green aventurine is mostly quartz with a glistening effect coming from tiny inclusions of  the shiny mica minerals. The multiple quartz inclusions make this stone play the light and often seems to have sparkles.  Aventurine may be found in green or shades of red and orange. 

Use: The barely perceptible mica inclusions in aventurine blend beautifully with either silver or gold findings. Draw the eye to jewelry designs with striking gemstone focal components

The alluring red tones vary slightly between stones
