Original vintage gouache painting by American illustrator Arthur Sarnoff (1912-2000). Recently professionally matted and framed with plexiglass. Signed by the artist at lower left. Exact dimensions of the work are not clear since we did not acquire it prior to its framing, but the frame dims are 29.25" x 25.25" and the visible area of the work is about 22.25" x 18.25". It appears that this painting was done over the top of a "warmup" or scrap painting, as there is a small castle in the upper left that appears to have no relevance to the main subject, and there are also several scattered covered-up areas in the blue space above and also underneath the main subject. Due to age and the nature of the medium, some small areas of the painting are starting to crackle and flake. Sold as is. Painting will not be removed from the frame. Signature confirmation required for delivery.
