Beautiful hand carved slate / stone Asian / Japanese lidded ink box.

Lid of box has a beautiful carving of an elegant classic Asian style bearded dragon and Turtle.

Carving on lid is very detailed and done in high relief, with a lovely dimensional style.

Interior of box has a slightly sloped surface most likely to better hold the original ink contents.

No maker’s marks or artist signature is evident.

Lid fits nicely into rim of box.

Quite heavy weighting about 1.6kg
