A lovely, large Asafo flag ( Asafo frankaa ) from Ghana.
Used flag in a fair vintage condition, has many holes and damage due to usage
( please see images).
Despite its condition , this is a beautiful authentic flag.
These flags are visual representations of military organisations
in Fante
communities known as "Asafo".
The Asafo or "companies" each have their own flag name and number.
Every flag has a message /story to tell from the images displayed on the flag.
The Flags were used during the installation of a new Asafo Captain , during
festivals , funerals of a companies member and
during other traditional events.
