“Power Rangers” is a long-running children’s TV series adapted from the Japanese tokusatsu “Super Sentai” series. The first of the franchise was “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers,” which began broadcasting in 1993. The franchise has continued, and as of 2007 has consisted of 15 television seasons, 14 different series, and two theatrical films. When "morphed," the Rangers become powerful superheroes wearing color-coded skin-tight spandex suits and helmets with opaque visors; identical except in individual rangers' color, helmet design, and minor styling such as incorporating a skirt. Morphed Rangers generally possess enhanced strength, durability, agility and combat prowess. When enemies grow to incredible size (as nearly all do), Rangers use individual Zords that combine into a larger Megazord.
