Brilliant
album by the English neo-prog band from 2005

With “Pepper’s Ghost” another brilliant studio album was
released by Arena in 2005. This is a strong album in all repects and received
much praise from music reviewers: amazing compositions, great vocals and excellent
instrumentation with fantastic keyboard and guitar work by Clive Nolan and John
Mitchell. The album was again very well recorded in the band’s own Thin Ice
Studios. Arena once again prove that they belong to the first league of the progressive
rock scene. Highlight of the album is the 13 minute long “Opera Fanatica”, a
compositional masterpiece that integrates opera vocals into complex, bombastic neo-progressive
rock - a very rocky and upbeat song that lets the heart of progressive rock
lovers beat faster.

“Pepper’s Ghost” ein weiteres brilliantes Studioalbum von Arena. Dieses Werk
ist in jeder Hinsicht ein starkes Album und erhielt auch viel Lob von
Musikkritikern: tolle Kompositionen, prima Gesang und exzellente
Instrumentierung, in deren Mittelpunkt Clive Nolan und John Mitchell mit
fantastischer Keyboard- und Gitarrenarbeit stehen. Das Album wurde wieder
hervorragend in den bandeigenen Thin Ice Studios aufgenommen. Arena bestätigen
damit einmal mehr, dass sie zur ersten Garde der progressiven Rockszene
gehören. Highlight des Albums ist das 13-minütige “Opera Fanatica”, eine
kompositorische Meisterleistung, die Operngesang in komplexen, bombastischen
neo-progressiven Rock einbindet - ein Song, bei dem richtig die Post abgeht und
der das Herz jedes Progressive-Rock-Liebhabers höher schlagen lässt.
