Medaille Militaire 1870

A rather fine Medaille Militaire in its box of issue and complete with those  vicious prongs used to pin to uniform/clothing.

This version is in silver gilt with a Trophy of Arms uniface suspender. This version  was  used untill 1952 when 1870 was replaced by a star. The medal is in good condition with a fine unpolished patina and has little damage if any to the enamels on the Obverse and reverse.

The box is complete and intact  other than for some scuffs and marks on the fabric.
