Content - About the Book

Classic Americana Historical Vintage Book -

…..     When Glenn Barclay agreed to undertake a special mission for the United Nations far from his home in Wichita, he realized that he was committing himself, his wife and his daughter to a year of uncertainty, probably discomfort and health hazards.  He did not realize that the Barclays were on the verge of an incredible dangerous adventure, nor that they would leave behind, in small native village in Pakistan a part of their heart.

An expert agronomist, Glenn's assignment is to see if elephants can be adapted to modern agricultural uses.  He learns about tracking down, capturing and training Wild Elephants, a fascinating lore centuries old.

But the main story is Pamela's - Glenn's eleven year old daughter.  It is she who first befriends Khoka, a blind village boy her own age and at her suggestion a seeing eye dog is sent to Khoka from the States.  When the dog is killed by a tiger, Khoka's enraged father hunts down the killer and brings a tiger cub home to distract his brokenhearted son.  Tue cub Sarang soon becomes a beloved playmate.......      ...
