Information about Dulcoflex 5mg Tablet

It is used for the treatment of constipation. It helps soften the stool by drawing water into the intestine. It is helpful in preventing dry and hard stools, enabling its easy passage, and improving bowel function. This tablet can also be used for the preparation of diagnostic procedures and in conditions where emptying of the bowels is needed. It is also indicated for use in pre and post-operative treatment.

It contains bisacodyl as its active ingredient. It belongs to the class of stimulant laxatives which help to treat constipation. It works by stimulating the activity of the intestinal walls, causing it to contract and defecate easily. These are usually recommended to prevent and treat short-term constipation. These are mostly advised to people before undergoing any diagnostic procedure where a bowel movement is required. It is usually recommended for a short period of time.

Overdose of this medicine may cause side effects such as abdominal cramps, vomiting, and nausea. It can be used by kids and adults. However, it should not be used very often or for long periods as the large intestine might become dependent on the laxative, causing the intestine to become lazy. If you have any doubt about its use then it would be wise to talk to your doctor.
