1863 Jefferson Davis $1000 Confederate States Of America Civil War Bond Archive

Excellent Condition for its age.  Also has seven $40 Bond Coupons

This bond was issued on February 20th 1863.  The bond features Jefferson Davis, confederate president on the upper right.  The upper left depicts the confederate capitol city of Richmond, Virginia. This is an exceptional example of a Confederate States of America Civil War $1,000 bond.  It has original hand written signatures. 

Like a number of civil war bonds that were bought as an investment by people in other countries this one was purchased in Germany by an investor near the end of the civil war.

It has the rare November 1863 German Purchase stamp on the back as well a the 1981 auction archive release stamp.  This was purchased from Germany and has the original import envelope.
