Our Favorite Recipes. Published by the people of the Zapata, Texas Methodist Church.  This recipe is one of the coolest cookbooks I have found.  Because of the diversity in Zapata, the book has a wide variety of recipes, from Menudo to Sauerkraut Salad.  It has a Mexican Rice recipe. I took pictures of the index so prospective buyers could see the variety.  The Introduction explains that Zapata, a little town along the Rio Grande, is "unlike any other community," a true "mulit-cultural" place due to the people who live there year-round and the influx of "Winter Texans" from the North" who have added traditional foods of their ancestors from England and France and Germany.

In addition to the recipes, there are black and white ads from local businesses at the time.

Format:  Soft cover; plastic comb binding

Size:  5.5 x 9;" 177 pages, plus the index.

Vintage:  Unknown.  It's post 1982, as there is a reference in the book to an event that occurred in 1982.
