Venom #1 - Funeral Pyre
Like new. We've had this for 30 years, never read. We have kept the
comic book collection in above average condition. We plan to have a box
or two of select comics, sent in for grading...but those are the comics
more likely to be in the range of 500 dollars to as much as 100,000
(the number 1 of Eastman and Laird's TMNT). So, the condition of the
books I'm willing to sell as-is are grade-worthy...and keep in mind, the
grade does not always matter: anything between a 6.5 to a 9.0 is a good
grade for a comic book: the longer you keep it, the more likely the
supply, of the same comic that are known to exist, goes down. In many
cases, the buyer wants to read it.
I'm
open to negotiations on prices but please keep in mind that, the
shipping costs are an issue and I value positive feedback most of all. I
will accept returns if you believe the condition is not grade-worthy.
I'm pretty flexible on the prices of what I'm selling. My prices are
based on the listings on MyComicShop. I look at the extreme highs vs.
the extreme lows and try to meet somewhere in the middle. I also
consider whether it's a popular character and whether there are movies
and TV shows about the main character--or, if it's a significant name in
comics, such as Todd McFarlane (we have many of the Spider-Man comics
he worked on).
I can't quote a grade
for the comic books I'm selling but I know the general criteria for
grading comics.
From my inspection, the comic
books do not have damage to the seems, the corners, discoloration,
folding, tears, or so on. The comics have been kept in plastic with
cardboard for 30 years. The pages, generally speaking, have been white
and not off-white, tan, or brittle. There should be no missing pages but
I have not counted. These are what graders will check. I'm confident
that the books I have are, generally, in the 9.0 or higher range...the
comics we have had graded were 9.0 and over--which were the Eastman and
Laird first run of TMNT comics, which was an infamously rough publishing
(many of the comics were printed poorly). Meaning, what I do have could
be much higher than the TMNT comics.
This comic is grade-worthy
Cost of shipping
might be more to ensure no damage to comic - cardboard envelope. The
cost of shipping one comic by USPS is about 2.31 cents plus an envelope
for 1.69--an envelope that is more of a paper/cardboard, not a harder
cardboard envelope. For this reason, I advise buying more than one comic
from this store in order to maximize the cost of shipping.
