ANTIQUE BUSTLE SKIRT CANDLELIGHT SATIN 1890s


 A 1890's lovely candlelight satin bustle back full skirt in an off white color.  The bottom hemline is decorated with wide pleats in sheer light white satin sweep.

The back has hook and eye closures and additional hooks to attach to a bodice. Skirt has a off white cotton lining with a wide thick gauze fabric  at inner hem line at edge.

Deaccessioned from the Strong museum of Rochester New York. 

CONDITION: In very good wearable clean condition. with one small stain as shown in photo, and some splitting in bottom pleats on fold lines.

MEASUREMENTS: Waist measures 28", length in back 46", length in front 39-1/2".


The piece is well preserved and still worthy of collecting, displaying or wearing. Dates from the 1890's when these skirts were in great favor with the women of the period.
