An American quilt with sewn cigar box felts depicting flags of many countries with American flag circa 1905-1920

A brilliant arrangement of 136 various Flags of the World cigar cotton flannels, all hand stitched and tied together. Having many American flag with 48 stars, as well as two different Confederate state flags. Haiti is spelled Hayti.

8 Larger side border flags on each side of width listed are Cuba, Belgium, Germany, Japan, Scotland, Spain and United States of America. Smaller inner flags having 7 across the width and 16 lengthwise bringing total to 112 flags. Listed are Austria, Bulgaria, Columbia, Confederate States, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Haiti, Japan, Liberia, Nicaragua,  Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Romania, Russia, Salvador,  Scotland, Siam, South Australia, Sweden, and United States of America.

Having a deep red thick felt border with scalloping and a printed paisley cotton backing. With indentation for poster bed.

There are old renditions of nation's flags or nations that aren't nations anymore. A great display piece for a wall hanging.

CONDITION

Overall very good condition commensurate with age and use, with one patch of very light toning, very small streak, no fading, no wear, no color bleed, and with no repairs. Red felt border has scattered small pin holes and with few small scattered discoloration visible on back as shown in last photos.

APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS

91" in length x 72" in width.
72" in width, and 81" before its 10" indentation for poster bed. Tail (bottom) 12" width on both sides, and 56" tail bottom.
