Description:

A Czech moulded glass charm in the shape of a French Bulldog in yellow glass. This piece has a matt frosted finish. 

This is a larger than average example. 

These charms were produced in many workshops in the town of Gablonz from 1890 until the 1930's.  

 

Identifying Marks / Makers Marks: Unmarked.
Age / date of manufacture: Late 19th / early 20th Century.
Size: Measures 4.8cm (1 7/8") tall to the tips of the ears and is approximately 3.8cm (1 1/2") across the base from front to back.
Condition: Item is in good condition. Has a some small chips from the bottom edge of the base at the back of the dog and some tiny nibbles form the mould lines on the tops of the ears, otherwise is in excellent undamaged condition. Has some fine crease lines on the surface of the glass.  Has no metal collar and bead or paste eyes.
