ITEM DESCRIPTION

Antique Chinese Rice Wine Pottery Bottle.
6-1/2" tall x 5" wide.
Not marked on the bottom.
The glaze goes almost to the bottom on the outside and it is glazed on the inside.
The ombre glaze goes from darker at the top to lighter as it flows down the bottle.
Pontil marks on the bottom where it rested on a shelf during production.
The story goes that my grandparents were in San Francisco at what would have been sometime in the early 1900's.
This bottle and others like it had been thrown out in the trash behind a building in Chinatown.
My grandmother picked up 2 of them that were still intact and brought them home.
This one survived.
We are not sure where the bottle was made originally or when.

CONDITION

No nicks or chips.
There are a few little blips where the glaze didn't catch on the pottery surface.
