Description

The Box of Rock is based on a simulation of the classic Marshall JTM45 (amp without master volume) with "10 total settings". It can be used effectively with many other amps, but the sound when combined with the Marshall, which was the purpose of the design, is worth a listen.

You can adjust the amount of distortion with the guitar's volume control, and the drive can be set at low levels to get a very clear, clean sound.
Although it says DISTORTRON ENGINE, this is not a printing error, but the name of the original distortion circuit. The BOR has a tremendous amount of headroom, and gain boosters from unity to 50X have very little input impedance and low hiss. It is similar to the SHO boost circuit, but has been modified to be more like a standard amp input and less glassy.
Boost channels can be used alone or in conjunction with DISTORTRON ENGINE channels.
The boost channel is behind his DISTORTRON ENGINE channel, so turning on both switches will send more distortion to the amp (at a louder volume), which is great for when you want to boost a solo.
