A small Heraldic handmade Belgian pin badge.

An intriguing badge which appears to date from the first half of the 20th century. This could indicate the badge is a piece of war made trench art.

Made from what appears to be snakeskin with a hand painted Heraldic lion depicting the 14th Century lion of Flanders (now used as the flag of Ghent). The centre of the badge has the Woven Belgian stripes which have been sourced from another WW1 or WW2 era medal.

Certainly an intriguing item which forms a unique piece of Belgian history.

Condition is great for age. Some fading and bowing to the leather but overall holding together well.

Size: 4.3cm x 3.3cm
