Despite its compact size and light weight, the camera is equipped with an in-body 5-axis image stabilization mechanism with an improved compensation effect of up to 4.5 stops and a new 20-megapixel image sensor, allowing users to shoot high-quality images and movies with minimal camera shake in all situations, including night scenes and telephoto shooting.

Full range of shooting functions and a movable LCD monitor ideal for selfies

The camera offers a wide range of functions to ensure that you can capture those fleeting shutter opportunities, including high-speed continuous shooting at a maximum of approximately 15 frames per second, C-AF with improved accuracy for keeping moving subjects in focus, Face Priority/Pupil Priority AF for focusing on faces in profile or with the head down, and 4K movie cutout. The "Silent Mode" can be conveniently used to turn off the shutter and operation sounds when shooting scenes where you do not want to make noise, such as at a presentation or when a child is sleeping. In addition, the OM-D series is the first to feature a movable LCD monitor that opens downward, allowing users to comfortably enjoy taking selfies with touch operation. The LCD monitor also supports high and low angles, allowing you to take pictures in a variety of situations as you wish.
