Here we have a elusive and unusual example of the Jamaican no stop variety on the 1917 orange 1.5d war stamp used in a horizontal pair with a normal stamp. The listed variety, 74a, clearly has no stop (period) after "Stamp" in the overprint. This error is found in just a few positions. The error variety is enhanced considerably by being in a used pair with a normal stamp. Such a pair is quite scarce and allows easy comparison between the normal and error stamps. The pair also represents a highly unusual se-tenant (different stamps attached) combination. The stamps are fine with neat handstamp, centred slightly to the bottom.

The postmark is well clear of the missing stop area and it is easy to see the stamp has not been altered in any way, with clear and solid printing in the relevant area.

The catalogue value is 18GB pounds for a used single stamp in my outdated 2006 Gibbons Commonwealth 1840-1951 catalogue but a used example with a normal stamp will command a premium.

An excellent and elusive Jamaican, war stamp and error used pair. It comes from one of the world's largest collections of used se-tenant stamps, which I am breaking up.

The postage costs on this item are higher than I would like and, after leaving them unchanged for several years, I have raised them slightly in line with the 2024 postage rates.

As I have some fixed-price items anyone who purchases one of my lots might want to look at them before paying. Additional postage is free for subsequent purchases unless they are too big for my normal very low basic rates. If you are buying more than one item please wait for me to send an invoice so I can combine postage.

When payment for lots won is received by teatime British time (it is usually dished up about 4:30) I normally post the item the next morning. Our village post office is closed on Saturdays, however, so if you pay on Friday the item cannot go out until the following Monday.
