You are bidding on an Antique, Dated 1914, Cape Cod, MA, Falmouth Heights, Carved Wood, Gargoyle, Sign Cross Piece..   Provenance:  I have owned this fine piece of folk art since 1990 when I traded a Doug Kubitschek for it..  Doug had rescued it from the scrap wood pile from the house that his mother owned..  At that time it had 1/4 inch of white paint on it so Doug stripped it down to the Yellow Pine..  This sign cross piece was originally out from of a Sea Capitan's House, circa 1880 or so..   At some point , about 1914 the house was converted to a Hotel and the sign was put up and said "Margaret House"..  Mrs. Kubitschek purchased the house in 1978..  It was located at "#9 Fairmont Ave. Falmouth Heights, Mass at the top of the hill..  I am certain that an unemployed Ship's Figurehead Carver made this Beautiful piece as the craftsmanship is wonderful and of the first order..  It is Huge and measures 6 by 9&1/2 inches in cross section and it is 33 inches tall..  It weighs a whopping 25 Pounds..  Because of it's size and weight I will send it Ground Advantage but would prefer that you pick it up here in N.C.    Please, If you have questions, don't hesitate to Ask..   I'd love to answer your questions about one of my finest Antiques..
