Description:

A Czech moulded glass charm in the shape of a dog or a fox in clear glass (with a slight yellow tint) This piece has a matt frosted finish. 

These charms were produced in many workshops in the town of Gablonz from 1890 until the 1930's.  

 

Identifying Marks / Makers Marks: Unmarked.
Age / date of manufacture: Late 19th / early 20th Century.
Size: Measures 2.5cm (just under 1") tall and is approximately 1.5cm (5/8") across the base from front to back.
Condition: In good condition, has a shallow chip from the underside of the base which does not show when the piece is on display. Has some tiny nibbles from the edge of the base on the paws and on the raised mould lines on the left ear. Complete with metal collar and blue glass bead and has both paste eyes. There is some rust on the metal collar and a few tiny rust marks on the glass under the collar at the back of the neck.
