Description of item for sale:

This beautiful gothic book stand/cabinet is from France and it dates to the late 1800's.  It is made from solid and veneered oak stained to a warm dark color.  The hand-done carvings in the piece are very intricate and nicely detailed.  There are two keys and the locks work as they should.  Note that there are several wood worm holes in the base of the piece (see photos).  There is also some water damage to the top door panel along with some cracks (see photos).  Overall this book stand/cabinet is in very good antique condition with minor chips, scratches and discolorations consistent with its age.  Dimensions:  92.5" high, 28" wide and 16.5" deep.  (571)
