antique teak carved opium water bowl kharal pot ?c1890.
Really interesting object ,probably Indian in origin, think this piece has had an interesting life . I believe the teeth are a later addition from around the 20s .as are the drilled holes to the underside and inside of the bowl .
All I can really think is that it was made up to look like a boat at one time ,with masts and a block stand . Luckily those additional pieces have long gone and were left with the original bowl ( including teeth).from the patina of the wood I believe this hand carved item is from c1890-1900. It definitely a little unusual with the extra chip carving and the larger than most dragon head  , the handle tail feels lovely in the hand .some seem to have a drain spout out of the creatures head this looks to have the simpler notch cut into the rim ,seen on earlier examples.
21.5” long, 2.5” tall ,2” wide
An interesting object with definite age .really intriguing.definitely something that warrants further investigation.
