A charming Old Master portrait painting of Caius Germanicus after Peter Paul Rubens 1577-1640.
Age- Early 18th Century
Size- 19.5 by 15.5 inches approx including frame, panel 16 by 12 inches approx.
Medium- Oils on wooden panel
Frame- Old wooden frame, some knocks and losses, offered free with the painting.
Condition- We would be happy to hang this as found. There is however a panel split and subsequent repair to the right hand side resulting in the panel having been cradled in antiquity. Some further old panel splits, varnish browning in places.
Signature- Unsigned, inscription verso.
