John Patitucci is known around the world for his super plays full of versatile musicality.
The TRB is customized for John with a 35-inch (889mm) super long scale, 26 frets, and a special tuned active 5 control system.
■Super Long Scale 35-inch scale
Scaled up from 34" to 35" of the previous model. The new TRB has a taut sound and improved pitch feel in the lower register, which was requested by John Patitucci.
To cope with the stress on the neck caused by the increased tension due to the scale increase, a volute (*) is provided on the back of the head and the neck is laminated with quilted maple to improve neck strength.
Volute: Thickness is added to the backside of the head and base of the neck to increase strength.
■Weight Balance
Lightweight resin pegs are used to balance the weight of the super-long scale. The string post is also made of aluminum instead of brass to reduce weight.
26 frets
The number of frets has been changed from 24F to 26F to accommodate the increased scale. The new fret count is 26 frets instead of 24 frets, which improves the sound in the lower register and expands the approach to the upper register, resulting in even more super-playing possibilities.
Solid brass bridge
Equipped with a newly developed solid brass bridge with high conduction efficiency that reliably transmits string vibration to the body. The pitch between strings is 19mm.
Active 5 control system
The active 5 control system enables a wide variety of tonal expression.
I.R.A. (Initial Response Acceleration) Processing
I.R.A. (Initial Response Acceleration) is a technology that reduces the stress between the paint and adhesive materials and the wood and parts by applying vibration at the optimum frequency unique to each instrument while the strings are tuned, and makes the instrument "easy to sound" from a new state.
