This piece in my opinion epitomises Carrillo’s work .The high quality of his enamels is a testament to the mastery of his craft . Difficult to produce because of the complexity of the firing process,these are rare items because of this .

The use of of lustrous enamels creates a brilliance in this piece that is matched by the perfection in the overall form . This is design at its very best.

To me the form takes definite 1950s modernist inspiration , while the sparkling surface evokes Hispano-Arab heritage .

In excellent condition , this has been treasured by its previous custodian.

 Signed “Carrillo” to the base ,it sits on four original protective felt pads .
